Positive: This hotel had been highly recommended to us by some friends, so we knew what to expect. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, our room was lovely (and quiet) and the public areas including the pool are great. We were travelling in our own car and the parking was free, easy and spacious. All of the staff were outstanding, we particularly liked Simone and Gabriella who were lovely. The breakfasts were good and we had some excellent meals in the hotel restaurant. We also had a good meal at a nearby restaurant, Roven. The hotel operates a minibus that can take you into Florence for 2.5 euros each. On arrival we were told that when checking out, a service charge for all staff would be added to our bill. It was made clear that we could remove this or change the amount. After initially being surprised, we decided this was a good idea as it was a fair way to tip and also saved having to think about it each day. On this occasion we were happy to keep the whole amount on the bill as we felt all of the staff had been exceptional.
Negative: The only thing that could have been better is if the minibus had taken us nearer the centre. The drop off point was 20-40 minutes away from the centre (depending on your mobility) and although the walk in is flat it was hard work for us, especially in 38 degree sun.
Summary: Beautiful relaxing hotel with excellent staff on outskirts of Florence.

Positive: The hotel itself was a beautiful, well-maintained property with comfortable and clean rooms. The pool was refreshing on a hot day and the breakfast was wonderful with great service from the staff coming around for drinks. Front desk staff was friendly and available to help you arrange any taxis or transport you may need. Enjoyed having a shuttle option to get you closer to the center of Florence.
Negative: Automatic service charge added on the total bill, especially because it was hard to get service at dinner, but we appreciated that the staff was transparent about the added charge at check in and that you could remove or change it. Limited shuttle times so if you plan on using the shuttle service, you'll have to plan your day around them.

Positive: Beautiful place. Close enough to Florence city center to go by car (about 15 minutes) and far enough to get the feeling you’re away in a Tuscan villa (which you are!).

Positive: This is an old estate of a noble family, built in a baroque or neo-classical style, with a vast garden. We felt we had this whole palace to ourselves. Amazing place.
